Google is going to shutdown the social network Google Plus when they found about a bug which may have exposed 500,000 user data to external developers.
Google says this bug existed in the system past 2 years. They also said that the bug was discovered and has patched in March of this year. And they had not found any evidence of the misuse of the user data.
Google says that it was a software glitch which gave developers access to the private profile data of users and it was between 2015 to march 2018 and is now fixed by internal investigators.
Google says that the affected data contains static, optional Google Plus fields including name, email, gender, age, occupation.
Google planed not to disclose anything to users until a decision has been taken by teh committee. And they thought that before that if it is possible then they could find out about data abuse of specific users and warm them but we're unable to do so and so are shutting down the social network.
