Atom is a powerful and free text editor. It is open-source text editor and is available for Linux, Windows and Mac.

So, today I will show you some packages which can make your coding work easy.

After installing atom, you will see this

Under Welcome Guide, you have to select Install a Package and then click on Open Installer. This will open install tab in settings.

Here you can search for the package you want to install.

Atom Packages

1. atom-beautify

With atom-beautify package you can make your code look better. If your code looks like this

then to make it look better select the code which you want to beautify and then right click and select beautify editor contents.

Then your code will look something like this with some auto indentation and spacing.

2. file-icons

File-icons plugin adds a small icon on the left side of the files under the project section with respect to the extension of the file.

3. highlight-selected

This package will help you highlight a tag with double click and will also show other similar tags in your code with a hollow rectangle.

4. minimap

Minimap create a small version or view of the code on the right side of your code. You can change the side whenever you want. This helps you to scroll over your code easily.

5. pigments

Pigment is the package which you should have if you are a front-end web developer as you will have to work with colors. With the help of this package you will be able to see the color of the hex-code which you have written. Here, marker type is native-background but you can change it to something different from the options available in the pigments package setting.
